Stretching from the Mediterranean to the English Channel, and from the Alps it shares with Switzerland to the Pyrenees it shares with Spain, France is a country that few others can match for its variety of travel experiences. The vineyards and restaurants of Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Champagne region are a world apart from the ancient towns of Brittany. The rolling hills and fields of Normandy contrast sharply with the splendid chateaux of the Loire Valley and the magnificent Alps.
