“The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary.” – Vince Lombardi
Happy 😃 Motivation Monday! This quote, might be in my top 10, and it’s perfectly accurate, lol!
Most people only see the exterior of success, but rarely see 👀what it takes to get there…tons of hard work!! Long hours, days, weeks, months of unrelenting dedication. There’s no short cut to success; it takes constant determination and hard work. And one thing is for certain; successful people do not stop🛑 working when they’re tired…they stop when they’re done!
With that being said…once you’ve achieved success 🙌🏻, it’s very important to reward yourself for all your hard work. What better way to do that than a staycation and “Escape your Everyday”. Especially right now…I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely feeling Covid fatigue. The best way to cope is to take a little 1, 2, 3, 4 day holiday to a safe location near you. Depending on where you live your options can be limited…but whether it’s camping in a tent 🏕, an RV, hotel 🏨, resort, timeshare, or a self catering home, just getaway. As my mother used to say, “When there’s a will, there’s a way!” Just find somewhere safe, and go; even for a day, just getaway and escape!
For those of you back in Lockdown, I’m so sorry; we can only hope and pray that you and your countries find relief soon, and that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy. In additon we hope that the lockdowns are successful, and you can resume some form of normalcy soon. Until then, we can virtually take you to your next destination. Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world 🤷🏽♀️?
Right now I’m missing Spain 🇪🇸 terribly. Spain is like home to me; it’s the only place in the world that I’ve ever felt I belonged to. As a first gereneration Nicaraguan 🇳🇮 American 🇺🇸, I’ve never been completely accepted by either cultures. Too American for the Nicaraguans, and too Nicaraguan for the Americans, lol! Then I traveled to Spain…the feeling of home was instant, and the people solidified it for me. In fact, my husband will no longer let me travel there without him – he’s worried I might not return! I don’t know what it is about Spain, but it has taken hold of my spirit, heart ❤️ and soul.
As soon as I’m able I will be heading back to Madrid to get me some chocolate ☕️ con churros. Since 1894 Chocolateria San Ginés been serving up some of the best in Spain and the world; they now how locations in 5 countries. (Please come to San Diego!!!!)
Chocolateria 🍫San Ginésis one of the oldest cafes in Madrid and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It also encapsulates this quote perfectly, their continued success for over 126 years is the perfect example of dedication and hard work. It’s close proximity to Puerta del Sol (Door of the Sun), it is the place where locals go to after ringing in the New Year 🎉 with their family and friends; location location location, another reason for their continued success.
Regardless of when you go, Chocolateria San Ginés is in all the travel books 📚 and was usually very crowded regardless of the time…Spaniards, are late diners and nite owls 🦉 . However, I’m not certain what it’s like now or post Covid. Regardless, it’s a must do whilst in Madrid Spain and will be one of the first places I go to once we get to travel again.
Stay safe, and remember, if you leave your place, cover your face 😷.
